Accommodation Service

Studying at Cambridge

University accommodation

It is necessary to be a member of the University or an affiliated organisation in order to apply for University-owned accommodation. If eligible, you will have the opportunity to join the waiting list once your initial registration with our Service has been approved.  There is a priority allocation system, with those new to Cambridge receiving a higher score.

The University owns many self-contained flats and a small number of houses, ranging in size from 1 to 3 bedrooms. They are almost all situated in the city of Cambridge and Madingley, within easy access of the city centre and the University Departments and Faculties. The properties are maintained to a very good standard, the majority being furnished, and include white goods such as refrigerators, cookers, beds, tables, chairs, but not small appliances and equipment such as kettles, toasters, microwaves, crockery or cutlery.

Properties are generally intended for longer tenancies of at least 12 months (offered for tenancy periods of aprroximately 12 months at a time), with a maximum of five years of tenancies in University properties, provided that you remain eligible and your tenancies are conduc ted satisfactorily. Prices start from around £950 per month not inclusive of bills, and are subject to increases from time to time. Generally these will be applied if a renewal of tenancy is requested and agreed..
