Description

The Old Dairy accommodation at Fuller's Hill is 20 mins away from Cambridge City Centre, and is based on a working farm and air field. This lovely cottage features a functional kitchen, equipped with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, oven and hob, cooking utensils and cutlery, glass and tableware. There is a freezer in the communal laundry room. A dining table is located in the kitchen. In the lounge areas we have soft comfortable sofas. (This apartment has a sofa bed for two extra guests to sleep on), a large flat screen TV with free-view channels, Blu-ray DVD player, free WI-FI throughout the apartment and a music docking station. Our bathrooms feature clean modern design with tiled walls and floors, hand basin, shower and toilet. The apartment has two bedrooms, one with a super king size bed and the other with two single beds, which can be easily joined to form a super King size double. Our beds are dressed with Egyptian cotton linen encasing feather pillows and duvets, all on a luxury mattress. In the bedroom area we have ample storage in the form of hanging space and drawers. The apartment has a hair dryer, iron and ironing board and access to a communal laundry machine facility where you can find a vacuum and clothes dryer.

The Old Dairy accommodation is located in the very oldest part of the original barn, built in the 1700s. It has two bedrooms (a double and a twin), a traditional kitchen with an old-fashioned farm house style sink to reflect the dairy heritage and separate living area. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and bathroom with a shower with a sofa bed giving sleeping up to 6 persons. It operated as a dairy until the 1950s – the cows entered through the same front door you will use to get inside the property and after being milked would be ushered out through the door in the living room.

From this apartment there are views to the airfield and this has been reflected by some aviation themed items, such as a polished propeller on the wall, interesting photographs taken from the air and a coffee table featuring an aeroplane engine. This apartment really reflects the farm’s transition from a traditional 1950s arable and pastoral farm to a modern agricultural endeavour – in the 1960s the Jefferies used aerial crop spraying techniques for a time, combining their interest in flying with their agricultural duties. If you have any flying enthusiasts in your party, this is definitely the apartment for you.
