How can I buy household essentials?

There are several large shops & supermarkets within easy reach where you can buy household necessities such as crockery, kitchen equipment, bedlinen etc at reasonable prices.

There are also a couple of useful online noticeboards for the sale of second-hand items - our own Moving Sales list, and the University's For Sale forum (you need to have Raven access to use this).
