Can I advertise a room in my own house?

Yes. If you are offering a room or rooms in your house for tenants, add your property and give details of all the rooms in your house. Mark the private rooms with ‘for landlord’s use only’. Make it clear what tenants can expect in terms of using the kitchen, living areas, bathrooms and garden etc. Under the property details ‘Property’ tab, tick ‘Landlord lives in property.’
